Preschool Program

Our preschool philosophy focuses on the first years of life which are of a vital importance to a child's physical and intellectual growth and development.  It is during this time that foundations are laid for future learning and attitudes about oneself are formed.  We believe that interaction with warm caring adults and other children is important in promoting how a child feels about himself/herself and how a child relates to the world around him/her.  We believe interaction with other children and adults, in an atmosphere of Christian love, stimulates the healthy development of a child.

The pre-school program at John F. Kennedy Catholic School is based on developmentally appropriate practice. It promotes the development of the whole child while providing an environment rich in socialization,  readiness skills, and literature. The program consists of a two day a week session for children who are three years of age and a three day a week session for children who are four years of age. The children are encouraged to learn through play, in an environment that is social in nature with opportunities for children to interact with each other. There is circle time, music, small-groups instructions, whole group readiness, story time, and organized centers for playtime. Catholic values and practices play a major role throughout the curriculum.
